Hi, I am Franchèle and welcome to the about me page. I am standing in as Clinical Psychologist in Sian Green’s practice for the period September 2019 to January 2020. This page offers some info on me and my practice interests.

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered as an independent practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I work in the private practice setting in two locations around Pretoria. In Pretoria East I am consulting as a stand in in Sian Green’s practice at the Satori Health Centre, Garsfontein on a Friday. I also consult at Hatfield Wellness, which is in Hatfield close to the University. Additionally, I consult for Unitas Hospital on an individual case management basis, generally seeing clients in the casualty of the hospital and assisting with challenges that bring clients into the emergency room.

At the Satori Health Centre, I work predominantly with therapy clients (adults, children from 10 years up, teens). I work therapeutically with individuals, couples and groups, with a range of requests and challenges.

I enjoy working with clients struggling with mood, complex trauma, burnout and addiction.  In addition, I offer a range of psychological assessments covering intellectual, emotional and personality functioning.

I also conduct medico-legal assessments for Equilibrium Forensic Psychology. Here I work predominantly with personal injury, road accidents, wrongful arrests, third party claims and medical negligence.

Prior to entering the private sector, I worked at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital, gaining exposure to psychology in a hospital setting. As part of my work in this setting I conducted forensic assessments for court purposes. With my background in Medical Criminalistics, this is an area of the field of Psychology that I am passionate about and continue to work in.

Thereafter I worked at Tshwane District Hospital in Pretoria. This entailed working for the Gauteng Department of Health at tertiary hospital level. Psychology in this hospital setting has assisted in my current consulting work at UNITAS and expanded my skills base working with medical psychology, a nuanced field on its own. Here working in a multi-disciplinary team and from a holistic view of what a client is experiencing is of utmost importance. I carry this with me as I engage with clients.
